What are the benefits of being a PAGB Member?

PAGB members and associate members enjoy a range of services and benefits including advertising copy advice, copy clearance, regulatory advice, training, industry news and insight.

Find out more below and view our full schedule of member benefits which sets out in more detail what full and associate members are entitled to.

copy clearance

Copy clearance – getting it right before submission

PAGB’s copy clearance team provides a pre-authorisation service for advertising and marketing/promotional materials (OTC medicines, medical devices and food supplements advertising). PAGB members are required to submit all advertising and marketing/promotional materials for all products in membership.

PAGB provides our members with copy advice and face to face meetings to support campaign development.

Associate members can access our advertising services on behalf of full member companies for all products in membership. This is a great advantage of associate membership as it means that agencies can come directly to PAGB for pre-campaign advice and can submit copy to us – saving them and their clients time.

regulatory advice

Ask the experts – regulatory support

We provide timely and relevant regulatory updates to our members. Members are also encouraged to join PAGB working groups to have their say on specific regulatory issues.

Associate members can access regulatory advice as appropriate, on behalf of member companies they’re working with.

workshop

Training to ensure your team is always up to date

PAGB’s advertising workshops are designed to help you understand the PAGB advertising codes and how to ensure that your campaigns (or campaigns that associate members are creating for PAGB members) comply with the relevant advertising regulations for over-the-counter medicines.

We also deliver training on regulation as it relates to medicines, medical devices and food supplements and we can tailor this to your company’s needs.

As part of their member benefits, PAGB members and associate members get a significant discount on the cost of workshops and the PLP.

Our seminars provide an opportunity to get to grips with complex issues with contributions from major players on these issues. We’ve recently run seminars on EU Exit, gender stereotyping in advertising, and the Medical Device Regulation.

Promoting self care – reaching a wider audience

PAGB promotes self care through a range of initiatives including collaborating with health professional bodies to encourage policy makers to adopt strategies that support self care and help to reduce pressure on the NHS.  We brief parliamentarians on our key policy asks and work with politicians, policy makers and other organisations to highlight the role of self care for the future sustainability of the NHS.  PAGB submits its views in response to consultations and inquiries into self care issues, members are invited to contribute to the development of these policy positions.

Through PAGB’s  partnership on national campaigns such as ‘Stay Well This Winter’ and ‘Stay Well Pharmacy’ our members support NHS England’s national campaigns to embed positive self care behaviour.

PAGB also supports the Self Care Forum, a charity that promotes self care and that runs the highly successful Self Care Week and Self Care Conference.

PAGB members and associate members benefit from all of these partnerships which support the promotion of self care strategies at a local and national level.

Have your say – the PAGB work programme

PAGB members contribute to its work programme through working groups. Representatives from member companies meet in these groups to discuss and agree PAGB activity on regulatory, advertising, public affairs and communications matters.

Full members have voting rights as defined in the Articles of Association and membership Terms and Conditions.

Day to day benefits

PAGB offers free use of its meeting rooms to members, and very reduced rates for associate members. We also invite our members to hot-desk at our offices if you’re in the area (subject to availability).

We love to meet our members and to create opportunities for you to network together. Our events give associates and full members the chance to find out how they can work together on consumer healthcare campaigns.
