What is gateway membership?

PAGB gateway membership is for organisations that are preparing for a product launch or seeking to reclassify a medicine. This could be undertaking a switch from a prescription-only medicine to a pharmacy or general sales list category medicine, developing a new product or introducing a new product to the UK market.

We are invested in giving your company the best support you need to prepare for launch.

Here’s what’s on offer to all PAGB gateway members

Regulatory support and guidance

Whether it’s changes following Brexit, pack design, reclassifications or complex ingredient issues, our in-house experts will guide you through the evolving regulatory landscape.

You’ll have access to our expedited pack design service, significantly speeding up the process of MHRA approval for your pack design changes and content.

We’ll keep you up to date via regular member-only emails, plus you’ll be able to access our regulatory guidance and one-to-one advice to support members to understand what you need to do and when.

Expert advertising support

Our specialist in-house advertising compliance team will make sure your advertising and marketing materials meet industry standards for OTC medicines, self-care medical devices and food supplements products.

We provide gateway members with up to 10 hours of advice for products in development (additional support is charged at a heavily discounted rate).

Authoritative training and workshops

Our suite of training workshops covering regulatory and advertising rules for OTC medicines, medical devices and food supplements are heavily discounted for gateway members and we offer bespoke workshops, available in-house and online.

Representation and influence

Members are encouraged to join our working groups to discuss and influence industry issues and contribute to PAGB activity on regulatory, advertising, public affairs and communications matters.

A media voice

We provide expert comment and opinion to the media about self-care, OTC medicines, self-care medical devices and food supplements. We work on behalf of our members to protect and enhance the reputation of the consumer healthcare industry in the media and with the public to promote and encourage self-care.

Day to day benefits

Gateway members can make use of PAGB’s central London meeting rooms at heavily discounted rates, and hot-desks at our offices (both subject to availability).

How to join

If you would like to discuss joining PAGB or have any questions, then please email membership@pagb.co.uk. Applications for membership can be submitted at any time. If you are ready to join, the first step is filling out our membership application form – this can be found further down this page.

Cost to join

Gateway membership costs £2,950+VAT (at 20%) per year and this is charged on a pro rata basis from the date you join. Gateway membership covers you and colleagues working within the UK consumer healthcare department. Once your product has been reclassified or the development of your product has been completed, we will support you to move into full membership.
