For a short summary about each group, follow the links below.  PAGB members can view full details of each group, including members lists and Terms of Reference in the members area (log-in required).

PAGB members may apply for membership of any of the PAGB working groups. Associate members may be invited to join one of the working groups at the discretion of the chair, for example if they have a particular interest or specialism.  All PAGB Associate Members are eligible to join the Associate Member Working Group, which has an information sharing function.

The PAGB Board

Oversight of PAGB’s work programme and strategy is the responsibility of the PAGB Board. Directors are drawn from the membership. There are currently 16 Board members from a mix of smaller and larger companies.

Member working groups

Regulatory Affairs Group

The Regulatory Affairs Group is a sub group of the Board. It provides expert regulatory insight and technical information to PAGB to assist in the creation of regulatory policy and projects. The RAG ensures regulatory input into PAGB strategy and work stream discussions to ensure effective delivery of PAGB objectives.

Medical Devices Regulatory Group

The Medical Devices Regulatory Group is a sub group of the Regulatory Affairs Group and provides expert regulatory insight and technical information to PAGB to assist in the creation of regulatory policy and projects specifically in relation to self care medical devices within the scope of membership (“medical devices”).

EU Exit Group

The EU Exit Group is a sub group of the Board. It determines PAGB’s key asks for the EU Exit process, including regulatory and commercial considerations. It also agrees the public affairs engagement activities that PAGB will undertake in support of its asks, typically on a quarterly basis. Finally, it offers a forum to exchange information between PAGB members and share views on how best to make the case for PAGB’s asks.

Food Supplements Forum

The Food Supplements Forum has an information sharing function and provides an environment that facilitates discussions and input on the full spectrum of food regulatory issues which impact on PAGB member companies.

The FSF provides opportunity for members with regulatory, marketing and PR expertise to assist in the creation of regulatory policy and projects and engage with relevant stakeholders.  This ensures member input into PAGB strategy and work stream discussions to ensure effective delivery of PAGB objectives on food supplements.

Self Care Group

The Self Care Group is a sub-group of the Board. It advises on PAGB self care activity (including but not limited to policy, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, media relations and wider communications activity) and provides input from a member company perspective.

Digital Working Group

The Digital Working Group  is a sub group of the Board. It provides expert knowledge from a variety of disciplines to help develop strategy for PAGB. The Digital Working Group forms part of the PAGB strategy and work streams to ensure effective delivery of PAGB objectives.

The Group oversees 6 sub groups relating to specific workstreams within the digital space. These include:

  • E-commerce
  • Real-World Evidence/ Real-World Data
  • Advertising and Social Media
  • Self Care
  • Patient Information
  • Apps and medical devices

Associate Member Forum

The Associate Member Forum has an information sharing function. It provides an opportunity for associate members to learn more about PAGB’s work programme and strategic direction, enabling associate members to input into these discussions at an early stage. It is also a forum for ideas on increasing the value of associate membership.

Environment and Sustainability Group

The Environment and Sustainability Group will provide input into PAGB strategy and work to support PAGB members to deliver environmentally sustainable self-care in line with the GSCF Charter and national legal requirements NHS Net Zero.

Advertising Working Group

The Advertising Working Group is a sub group of the Board. It provides expert advertising and marketing insight to PAGB to assist in the creation of advertising policy and projects across all three categories of membership. The AWG input into PAGB strategy and work stream discussions relating to advertising and marketing to ensure effective delivery of PAGB objectives.
