PAGB works with a panel of experts to help communicate the benefits of self care so that people feel empowered to manage their health when dealing with self-treatable conditions.
Dr Sarah Jarvis and pharmacist Deborah Evans are both available to provide comments or information surrounding OTC medicines and medical devices. An honorarium fee is offered to experts for their time to support media requests.

Deborah Evans is Managing Director of Pharmacy Complete, working across all pharmacy sectors to provide support, strategic advice, market insight and solutions to pharmacy organisations, the NHS, Public Health and pharmaceutical companies.
Deborah has worked for over 30 years within pharmacy and has worked in management roles within community pharmacy, senior leadership within the pharmaceutical industry and closely with primary care and hospital pharmacy sectors.
Deborah is considered a national pharmacy leader and is a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. She led the national, award-winning Healthy Living Pharmacy (HLP) pathfinder work programme, initially project managing Portsmouth HLP pilot. She still advises and informs development of the concept nationally and internationally.
Dr Sarah Jarvis MBE
General Practitioner and Media Medic
Dr Sarah Jarvis is a General Practitioner working in London and also provides expert comment in the media on a range of health topics. She was educated at Cambridge and Oxford Universities and qualified as a doctor in 1986.
She is the Radio 2 doctor with regular appearances on the Jeremy Vine show, and appears regularly on BBC1, ITV, Channel 5 and Sky news to comment on medical stories. She is also the Clinical Director of the health website Patient.info.
In the 2018 New Year’s Honours list, Dr Jarvis was awarded an MBE for services to general practice and the public understanding of health.
