Working together, we can create an environment that empowers people to self care for the continued success of the consumer healthcare industry.
Our members manufacture, distribute and advertise a diverse range of consumer healthcare products that are sold over the counter without prescription in pharmacies and/or general retail outlets.
Here’s what’s on offer to all PAGB full members
Expert regulatory support
Whether it’s changes following EU exit, the rules around pack design or complex ingredient issues, we guide you through the evolving regulatory landscape.
We’ll keep you up to date via regular member-only email intelligence briefings and need-to-know alerts.
We welcome members onto our working groups, too, so you can have your say on regulatory issues that affect your business.
Expert advertising support
Our specialist advertising compliance team will make sure your advertising and marketing materials meet industry standards for OTC medicines, self care medical devices and food supplements products.
As a PAGB member, you’re eligible for our P3 expedited pack design service, significantly speeding up the process of MHRA approval for your pack design changes and content.
Expert training
We offer a comprehensive package of training workshops covering regulatory and advertising rules for OTC medicines, medical devices and food supplements.
We can also put together a bespoke workshop at a generously member discounted rate exclusively for your business.
All of our training events are heavily discounted for PAGB members.
Effective engagement and networking
We use our expert voice on behalf of PAGB members in regular meetings with Government ministers, officials, regulators and stakeholders across the consumer healthcare industry.
We’ve shared concerns and sought positive solutions on key issues including EU exit, the impact of COVID-19 and the plastics packaging tax.
We’re members of the European and world bodies that encourage and support self care (the AESGP and the Global Self Care Federation).
A media voice
We work on behalf of our members to protect and enhance the reputation of the consumer healthcare industry in the media and with the public, and to promote and encourage self care.
If the media report concerns around an ingredient used in an over-the-counter medicine, a self care medical device or a food supplement product, our team will assess the situation and respond appropriately on behalf of our members.
An enhanced business profile
Your products will be included in the OTC Directory online, our go-to resource for healthcare professionals seeking advice on supporting patients and consumers to self care.
PAGB offers free use of its meeting rooms to members, and very reduced rates for associate members. We also invite our members to hot-desk at our offices if you’re in the area (subject to availability).
Is my company eligible for Full membership?
Companies qualify for full membership of PAGB if they manufacture and/or market branded non-prescription medicines, self-care medical devices, food supplements or registered herbal medicines in the United Kingdom.
How much does Full membership cost?
The minimum fee for full membership starts from £5000+VAT at 20% annually and this is charged on a pro rata basis from the date you join. Full membership covers you and colleagues working within the UK consumer healthcare department. Each company fee is calculated based on their respective sales taken from a Nielsen total market report.
You may be at a stage where you are considering viable routes to market entry, exploring claims, or seeking to reclassify a product and we can support you on that via Gateway membership or contact us for more information about our regulatory and advertising consultancy service.
