We are pleased to hear the news that the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has today appointed Lawrence Tallon as CEO. Lawrence steps into the role following the announced departure of Dame June Raine.  We would like to thank Dame June for all the work she achieved during her tenure and for being a strong advocate of self-care and enabling over-the-counter medicines.

On the new appointment, Michelle Riddalls OBE, CEO at PAGB, shared:

I’d like to congratulate Lawrence Tallon on his new appointment heading up the MHRA. As the consumer healthcare association, PAGB enjoys a close working relationship with the MHRA, supporting our members to understand MHRA guidance and navigate regulatory complexities, and advocating for the interests of the sector across key industry discussions.

I look forward to working with Lawrence as he takes on this important position delivering the critical work of the MHRA. Now is the time to reinvigorate progress and innovation across the life sciences sector, and we want to support Lawrence in accelerating this work.

At PAGB, we are keen to improve public access to medicines, working with the MHRA to enhance the process for reclassifying medicines, and prioritising open and collaborative partnerships with the over-the-counter sector, who stand ready and willing to support.
