This is an on-demand recording of an exclusive webinar for PAGB members with experts on Modern Community Pharmacy Practice (MCPP).

This webinar aims to support members to understand what the future of community pharmacy practice could and should look like, aligned to the NHS 10 Year Health Plan.

The MCPP model is supporting community pharmacies to evolve into healthcare destinations by developing a diverse and appropriate skill-mix, embracing digital and hardware technologies, and delivering a broad portfolio of funded and private clinical services including self care support, advice and treatment. More background information available here: www.mcpp.uk

This session will support members to learn how effective leadership and a shared vision can empower teams to meet local healthcare needs, uphold clinical governance, and provide excellent patient experiences. We also cover what this means for the development of OTC business strategy and how this can inform the support members offer to customers.

Key focus areas in the webinar will include:

  • The importance of the right team with the right skill-mix and culture, and a shared purpose
  • Advancing clinical services underpinned by good clinical governance and safe processes
  • Utilising integrated digital, hardware and AI technologies for safe, efficient service delivery
  • Supporting self-care through OTC medicines, supplements, diagnostics, and lifestyle advice
  • How this model can provide the foundation for the ambitions within the NHS 10-year plan including the shift from hospital to community and cure to prevention within neighbourhood health teams
  • Crafting successful business and marketing plans to position community pharmacy as a health and wellbeing hub
